The Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Agriculture high level experts from Extension, Soil Fertility Management & Small Scale Irrigation Development Directorate visited TDA supported Conservation Agriculture practicing farmers in Wolayta Zone Southern Ethiopia from November 27-29, 2017. The visit was part of the efforts to incorporate Conservation Agriculture technology into national agricultural extension system. The objective of the visit was to complement the manual preparation process with field level data and experiences. The high level experts spent two days in Humbo and Damot woyde Woredas, talking to CA farmers, district and zonal level agricultures experts and Administration officials. The program was coordinated by Canadian Food Grains Bank and Mennonite Central Committee Ethiopia Office.
At the end of the visit Team leader Ato Melese Anshebo said” What we have seen on the ground is surpassed our expectation. Given, the needed technical support to farmers, Conservation Agriculture has a huge potential to transform the lives of small holder farmers by boosting productivity of the land in moisture stress areas of the country”
